TOGETHER EATS: My Bday!

Dear Foodie Fam,

Dutch got me tickets to the Ms. Lauryn Hill + Nas concert for my bday!

We got hooked up with a sweet hotel room from my Dad’s Marriott hotel discount and kicked back in San Jose.

We had crepes from Le Moose Crepe cafe, where service was warm and welcoming! I had a "Buddies" crepe- crab meat, shrimp and tomato with mozzarella in pesto sauce. It was melty, savory seafood goodness!

Other crepes we were dying to try were the Chicken Masala (chicken with potato and carrot in a masala curry sauce), Le Moose Lover (strawberries and banana with caramel and raspberry sauce), and Brownie Cheesecake (brownie with cheesecake and chocolate sauce).

Anyway, later that night, of course Ms.Hill + Nas killed it!!!!!! I sang to every song and could feel the live versions electrocute my heart! No better way to put it.

After the breathtaking Ms. Lauryn Hill / Nas concert, we crashed at the hotel. We got up early the next day to play tourists in the city where i was born. The first goal was to attain the allusive cruffin from Mr. Holmes Bakeshop.

It is a wildly popular cross between croissant and muffin which takes a 2-day process to bake and is rolled in sugar and filled with the sweet cream of the day. But alas, we had partied too hard and slept in too late.

The matcha croissant -picked because Dixie loves matcha and croissants!- was an exceptionally tasty breakfast.

For a little refreshment, we grabbed a Strawberry Matcha Latte for another of a bday treat. I LOOOVE matcha!

The Boba Guys make what was the best -and prettiest- cold mixed matcha drink i has ever had. No surprise- since the teas never have artificial ingredients, fructose or powders. Instead, they are all hand shaken and use organic milk, real fruit, real tea leaves and house made syrups.

The rest of the menu at Boba Guys made it necessary that we would have to return next time we are in that part of town!

After our treat, we went off to hike- landing last at the Sutro Baths for the first hike I was able to take after 2 years of recovering from a back injury! That was the best gift!
