SAC FAVE EATS: Pho Anh Duc East West Cafe
Dear Foodie Fam,
On a recent hang with my mom and grams, we had takeout from Phở Anh Duc / East West Cafe. We've all eaten there multiple times and in need of curing the crave for Vietnamese food, this is how we ordered:
Nem Nướng (Vietnamese grilled meatball) Bánh Mì (sandwich) and Beef Bánh Mì:Baguette was crispy outside and not too abrasive. The helping of meat was good and the pickled veggies hit the spot.
Phở Tái Nạm Gần: my parents’ fave soup- rare steak, tendon and well-done flank. It include onions, cilantro and broth on the side of noodles. I feel the broth's a sweeter, deeper broth- balancing cloves, cardamom and star anise and pulling cardamom, cinnamon and coriander forward.
Bún Chà Giò Tôm Gầ Núớng: I love cold, thin Vermicelli (rice) Noodles and this bowl came with a super crispy egg roll, grilled shrimp, a tender grilled chicken breast and fresh vegetables with peanuts. It took me two meals to finish the helping! This is one of the more decent priced bowls of it’s kind in Elk Grove.
The cool thing about Pho Anh Duc / East West Cafe is there's a world to explore: there's Louisiana style Cajun food, burgers, sandwiches, tacos and burritos! I know from experience: the Steak Quesadilla is filing and brimming with creamy goodness!
They also care about the community. I've attended many a school fundraiser, here.
Definitely a fave Vietnamese place in Elk Grove. Both my mother and my grandmother were, as usual, very happy with the order. It added to a very nice visit.
