SAC EATS: Donut Madness

Dear Foodie Fam,

It's National Cereal Day and I wanted to have breakfast in bed!

Donut Madness has a few donuts with cereal on them and grabbed some in my pajamas and brought them home to work from bed!

I got the Cereal Killer (Cap'N Crunch) and Snap Shackle Pop (Rice Krispies)- below.

I also tried the Halloween, the Evil Bread and the Tres Leeches (my favorite) while picking up the Zombie, Smores Stalker and Orange Sickle to drop off to my aunt for her birthday because the 1/2 off 1/2 dozen deal is killer!

The following I tasted in the comfort of my cozy blankets!

CEREAL KILLER

Tasted like a Krispy Kreme donut with CAP'N Crunch on top. It was light enough to not be too overpowering and sweet enough to still feel like a treat. Really like a frosted donut cereal.

I loved Rice Krispies as a kid- cereal and snack. It took a long time to chew but it blew me away. The frosting is sweeter and marshmallow-ier than the Cereal Killer because I'm supposing this was meant to be a donut mimicking the Rice Krispies treat rather than the actual cereal, itself. The texture of the crunch and chewy marshmallow is a fun experience. Hit the chocolate drizzle and it starts to taste like Cocoa Krispies.

SNAP SHACKLE POP

EVIL BREAD

From the first bite, it's pretty delightful for a peanut butter fan because your teeth just sink in. The frosting is not too sweet, but the texture is thick and very decadent. It is like cheese paper! But more like donut frosting paper! I'm glad it's not covered with chocolate cream because it would taste a lot like a Reeses cup and that's not what I think the donut is about. Wash it down with coffee- perfection!

HALLOWEEN

This is an Oreo-covered peanut butter donut with some graham crackers, too. It's more for people who like a chocolate bar jazzed up with peanut butter. A bit too sweet for my liking but with the Oreo in the bite, it's definitely a fun texture.

Overall, a pretty killer experience!

Speaking of killer...

The space is fun if you love horror movies like me. Big ups for supporting local artists, too! Take a fun selfie at the coffin-shaped display or the guillotine.

Honestly: I am not a huge donut person...I don't enjoy very sweet things for breakfast. I also wasn't a big Voodoo donut fan and I knew this shop may resemble it on the surface. But! DONUT MADNESS! Honestly balanced in texture, appearance, taste and creativity!

Get slain!
