FOODIE FUN: Roses and a Box of Chicken
Dear Foodie Fam,
Happy Valentine’s Day
Here’s a funny, delicious gift to tell a foodie you care about them, this Valentine’s Day!
I’ve been thinking about how chicken nuggets were such a meme last Valentine’s Day! These memes were so funny! I couldn’t find original sources but I really enjoyed them.
Here’s what I made!
Box of Choco-oops… Chicken Nuggets!
Supplies:
Chicken Nuggets: McDonalds $5
Tin: Dollar Store $1
Tissue Paper: Dollar Store $1
Napkins or Paper towels
Ambiance:
Fake Rose Bunches: Dollar Store $3
Light-Up Roses: 4 for $4. These were hard to find! There were boxes of ones that weren’t working.
500 PC Fake Rose Petals: Amazon $7.55 I had these, already!
DIY:
Bunch up and fold paper towels and/or napkins to create a cushion about 1” high.
Place stack of paper towels and/or napkins in the tin. This makes the tin look fuller.
Place chicken nuggets on paper cushioning. Place them side by side moving from the top of the heart to the bottom. It helps to keep round sides of the chicken nuggets peeking out so they enhance the shape of the heart.
Cut strips of tissue paper. Rim the outside of the chicken nuggets between the food and the tin. You’ll have to stuff some strips down in layers to really cushion the food.
Lightly cinch a few strips to rim the chicken nuggets like ruffles.
Cinch and pinch the strips of tissue paper- especially where the heart shape should be sharpened. This helps make the heart shape pop.
This tin won’t be a covered one and should be served immediately after arranging.
