TOGETHER EATS: Year 2 anniversaries
Dear Foodie Fam,
We celebrated our dating anniversary (we dated for 12 years before marrying) at India Kitchen in Elk Grove to use our Groupon coupon.
Obviously, the menu had some stunning stuff but surprisingly, the Kulfi was our favorite. It's got to be one of our favorite desserts. It was just rich enough to top off the meal.
Our wedding anniversary was at Morton's Steakhouse to round out our experience of trying all the fine dining steak houses in our area.
The service was stellar and they even made us our own anniversary menu! The restaurant ambiance makes you feel on top of the world- from the mirrored walls to the cute little pig table lamps.
We opened the night with taco appetizers. The Oscar-style Center-Cut Filet Mignon and the Porterhouse melted in our mouths and sent us to cloud 9.
We rounded it off with glasses of Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon and a dessert on the house. A romantic one to remember.
Closed anniversary week with a slice of cake from our fave dessert diner, Rick's.
We've been going here for 14 years! So of course that's where we got our wedding cake and where we return to share cake, every year.
The cakes at Rick's Dessert Diner are made fresh so the menu rotates and there's always something new to try. The diner use to be quite small but it's popularity allowed it to grow to a much larger space. We've shared lots of fun dates and friend outings at Rick's.
Rick's Dessert Diner is still a really popular place for a social appointment- catching up with friends, celebrating with family. It's always such a happy place!
