Oh my GAD!!!
Gad tops many Cairo must-try-food lists. It’s so frequented, they adapted to their throngs of fans and set up outdoor stalls specifically for convenient quick bites. These are outside their main sit-down restaurants. We went to the one in the 26 July area.
The quick bites were just what we needed on the way to the lofts! We had a tender, juicy shawarma... the best I ever had to date.
Egyptian shawarmas boast marinated meat cooked beautifully on a spit where fat drips down it. It's usually served topped with tahini, hummus or garlic spread on pita, taboon or lavash bread.
