TOURING EGYPT: Mosque of Muhammad Ali

Mosque of Muhammad Ali ( مسجد محمد علي) is an Ottoman mosque built for Tusun Pasha, Muhammad Ali's eldest son, who's Carrara marble tomb is in the courtyard of the mosque. The mosque was built on the summit of the citadel of Cairo. It's the largest mosque built in the first part of the 19th century and you can actually see it when entering the city from any direction.
