SAC EVENTS: The Waterboy 2018 PATIO PLATES

Dear Foodie Fam,

The Waterboy...
Here's California and New American cuisine dabbling in Southern French, Northern Italian and Mediterranean inspired food. This is fine casual dining... This is relaxed indulgent dining- my favorite way to feel fabulous.⠀

DEETS:

MAIN DISHES:

  • We had the Wild Pacific King Salmon collar and the pan-seared filet. As for the collar, yes: the salmon was fatty and was the most melt-in-my-mouth salmon I’ve ever had. That’s including the sushi I’ve had in Japan, btw. ⠀

  • We also had the ricotta and Spring Onion Raviolli with tomato-rosemary cream, Steak tartare (5 Dot Ranch, Susanville), Steak Du Jour (10” ribeye, black truffle butter, caramelized onions, potato gratin) and Oyster side of Sudoku on the half shell.

  • That Oyster- the name made our party swoon! These were from Washington state- lightly plump and sweet. Not too heavy or meaty with mignonette and black pepper.⠀

  • Sonoma Liberty duck- cage-free, tender roasted and sliced over summer beans and cherries that I just adored! Drizzled all over with balsamic, too. It came with a special Lajoulie knife in old school French style. Allors..., Ç'est magnifique, no?

  • Sunny-tasting Ceviche! Refreshing, generous helpings of gulf shrimp, scallop and white fish on a crispy tostada. Brightly tasting jalapeño, avocado, tomato, cucumber and lime kicked that all up a notch.

SIDE DISHES/ PATIO PLATES

  • Potato leek croquettes: (the best croquettes I’ve ever had), romesco and aioli.⠀ ⠀

  • Market Bruschetta: I love corn (these were sweet), ricotta (this one was herbed) and mushrooms (these were sautéed). Whatsmore, I adore basil (there was that, too!). Add some pecorino (a hard, salty Italian cheese) and this bruschetta... I still can't bruschettaff. It left me feeling warm and toasty on the inside and out (on the sunny patio!).
