SAC FAVE EATS: Evan’s Kitchen & Catering

Dear Foodie Fam,

Chef Evan Elsberry' Evan's Kitchen and Catering is one of our fave, sweet little brunch spots.

We go here for the intimate ambiance. It feels like home away from home. A little getaway cloistered away near some vintage shopping!

Usually while there, I sip a bottomless Mimosa or Dutch is having a bacon Margarita before we search the neighboring antique shops for treasure! Today, I took Grams for Valentine's Day.

The restaurant was full of different parties sharing the love of brunch for Valentines lunch. The restaurant has an inviting, casual feel- like a friend's country dining room and the food is always just as comforting! It was the perfect place for us to laugh and blush over old stories and even to face-time a cousin!

We had:

Julie's Monterrey Benny: grilled prawns, avocado, chipotle Hollandaise... The grilled prawn was a plump, crisp take on the usual seafood benny!

Chef Evan's Famous Hot Meatloaf Sandwich: meatloaf served on garlic-parmesan sourdough bread with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo... Dixie's fave of this meal! The bread is crisp and buttery and the meat has a deep Rosemary-ish flavor. That and the sharp cheddar draw out the savory meat.

Grilled Salmon: with orange-tarragon beurre blanc, dried cranberries, sour cream mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Side Salad: with champagne sauce.

We had such a good time and I am so happy grandma liked our little date, too!
